Jaroslav Vrchlický

Jaroslav Vrchlický (pronounced [ˈjaroslaf ˈvr̩xlɪtskiː]) - by his own name Emil Frida - (February 17, 1853, Louny-September 9, 1912, Domažlice) one of the greatest Czech lyrical poet. He also wrote epic poetry, plays, prose and literary essays and translated widely from various languages, introducing e.g. Dante, Goethe, Shelley, Baudelaire, Poe, and Whitman to Czech literature.
