Jarmers Tower

Jarmer's Tower (Danish: Jarmers Tårn) is an old ruin of a tower. It was part of the Copenhagen moat. The tower is named after the wends Fürst Jaromar II of Rügen who in 1259 attacked and penetrated the fortress at this place.

The tower was built in the beginning of the 16th century. In 1885 the tower was excavated and restored.
The plaza around the excavation where Nørre Voldgade becomes H.C. Andersens Boulevard has been named Jarmers Plads.
