Jared Boice
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jared Boice plays lead guitar for the Jacksonville, Florida based Progressive Rock group A New Ascension. Formerly of Escher, Boice now devotes his free time to developing the majority of the guitar riffs, lyrics and melodies which ultimately define the A New Ascension sound. He was also a guest musician on a release by the internationally acclaimed hardcore outfit, Evergreen Terrace. On their album, Wolfbiker, Jared Boice wrote and tracked a solo on the song known as, "Cheney can't riff like page hamilton."
[edit] Besides music
When Boice is not in the studio or at home writing math rock influenced music, he runs a video production company. Created in late 2005, the company started with the purpose of shooting and financing, solely, A New Ascension creations. After completing the video for the first single, "Consider This" (2005), Boice decided to expand his work by shooting, producing and editing video for bands in the local area. To date, Boice has produced several videos (including bios, compilations, samplers and trailers) for the First Coast. Bands such as The Embraced, Shadow Agency, and Good Fortune have all had work done through the company.
In response to a question about his projects (including his production company) Boice was quoted as saying, "...though currently all of [our] focus is on the band and the music, [we] all have other interests..." (Folio Weekly, 2005)[citation needed]
Since its creation, the production company has shot several works (including a video bio, documentary and a sampler dvd) for the band A New Ascension. Boice is continuously at work filming various independent artists as well.
