[edit] Darwin
I have deleted the following: "including the Japanese attack on Port Darwin, Australia on February 26 1942." The only Japanese attacks on Australia, including Darwin in that period, were air raids. Also, it ceased to be called Port Darwin long before 1942 and hasn't been since. Grant | Talk 17:32, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- Was Maya part of the carrier task force that attacked Darwin? Cla68 (talk) 01:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Cla, happy new year. The source, whatever it was, is unreliable, as the first and only major raids on Darwin took place on February 19. I don't believe there were any raids on February 26. See: Air raids on Australia, 1942–43. Grant | Talk 03:04, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
