The Japanese seahorse or lemur-tail seahorse (Hippocampus mohnikei) is a species of fish in the Syngnathidae family. It is found in Japan, possibly Cambodia, possibly China, possibly Thailand, and possibly Vietnam. Its natural habitats are open seas, shallow seas, subtidal aquatic beds, coral reefs, estuarine waters, intertidal flats, intertidal marshes, coastal saline lagoons, coastal freshwater lagoons, and karsts.
