Japan Hot 100

The Japan Hot 100 Singles (also known as Japan Hot 100) is a music singles chart in Japan. It has been compiled by Billboard and Hanshin Contents Link since February, 2008.[1] The chart is updated on every Wednesday in billboard-japan.com(JST), and it is updated in the billboard.com(UTC)/Tsutaya Online(JST) on every Thursday.
The Japan Hot 100 Singles is based on U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It components CD package sales data from Soundscan Japan and radio audience levels data from Plantech. [1]
"Flavor of Life" by Hikaru Utada single with 7.7 million legal paid downloads and achieve the highest selling digital download in the world,[2] and Japan has the highest amount of downloads sold in the world. But, Digital download sales data is not added to a chart.
The first number-one song/single on this chart was "Step and Go" by Arashi.[3] In May 5, 2008 chart dated (issue date/week ending), a musician for a non-Japanese("Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis) won number-one for the first time.[4]
