The Japan Baptist Convention, or Nippon Baputesuto Renmei is a Baptist denominational body in Japan, related to the Southern Baptist Convention.
The first Southern Baptist missionaries to Japan arrived in 1889. By 1989, the Japan Baptist Convention had 242 churches with about 31,654 members. The Southern Baptists first concentrated on western and southern Japan, especially the island of Kyushu, but later spread throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa.
