Upon consideration, this page seems like it might be a bit unnecessary. I mean, there's already the "Japanese legendary creatures" category, which already contains everything that would be in here. Is it really necessary to categorize the Japanese demons again? Just a thought. I'm a semi-noob, so I'm probably wrong. Dan 23:40, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I agree, "demon" is really a vague term when it's applied to beings from non-European myths. What constitutes a Japanese "demon" really depends on how you translate words like yōkai (which can also be "spook" or "monster") or oni (which can also be "ogre").
