[edit] edits to Drake Circus
Firstly Drake Circus is a postal district for the lower half of North Hill, Plymouth. It is NOT a shopping mall. The nearby shopping mall is located in Bretonside and is known as 'Drakecircus'. Note their trademark has no space after the word Drake and note the full postal addresses of the businesses in the area.
Secondly deletion of accurate and factual reporting which is supported by physical eveidence such as the purple fence is Vandalism of Wikipeidias pages.
I sincerely hope you take heed of my warning as although i have no interest in any commercial organisation, as a local historian i am only too well aware of the need to exercise caution in a legally and politically sensitive area. I say this because i know the legal advisors of the Drake Circus licensees, solicitors, estate agents and retailers are noting the continued misuse and abuse of their postal address. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yiwentang (talk • contribs) 02:25, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Advice about creating panoramas
Hi there. Its hard to know what specific advice I can give you about creating panoramas as there are different techniques and ideas for different situations! The most obvious advice I can give you is to try to keep all the exposure settings the same between shots. For example, if you're taking a series of 5 photos in a row, you need to make sure you either set the exposure settings manually, or if your camera has exposure lock, use it to make sure the settings don't change between frames. That way all of the frames have exactly the same colour balance and brightness, so it is much easier to blend the frames together to create the panorama. Other trick depends on how patient you are really, and whether the subject you're taking the panorama of is stationary enough to get away with! I sometimes use this trick to get an extra high resolution image. Rather than zooming out as far as I can to get a really wide angle of view, I sometimes zoom in a bit on a subject and take a series of frames, overlapping each one by about 30-50% (its probably best to overlap them by 50% to make sure you don't miss a bit which would ruin the whole panorama!). Sometimes if the subject is vertical as well as horizontal, you can take a series of say 5 frames horizontally and 2 or 3 vertically! In other words, you scan across the subject from left to right (or right to left), then go back to the start but move the camera's view up a row and start again. In the end you can end up with a large number of frames (I've done panoramas up to about 60 individual frames and the possibility is almost limitless, it all depends on how patient you are). The great benefit of having all these frames is that when you stitch them all together, you get a much higher resolution (detail) final image! That way, for example, you might only have a 5 megapixel camera but your panorama might have the equivalent detail of a 40 megapixel camera! Theres a few little basic hints and tips for you, anyway. I use a really good panorama package called PTGui and definitely recommend it. It isn't free though, so unfortunately unless you purchase it, it will put a watermark on the final panorama. There is another program called Hugin which is also apparently quite good. I used it once or twice a while ago and it wasn't quite as easy to use as PTGui but I think it is just as powerful and useful.
Thanks for the compliment regarding my photography though. :-) Feel free to ask me about anything I've just explained (I know it was a bit rambling), or if you have any other questions about something I didn't cover - although the principle of stitching images is quite simple, it helps to have a good understanding of how it all works. [edit] Image:2007 honda civic srs airbag.jpg
Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is however another Wikimedia foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading media there instead. That way, all the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons. Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:HSSBCAP.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:HSSBCAP.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 11:26, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Csswallhacking.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Csswallhacking.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
