Talk:Jane Swift

[edit] Governor's Mansion
The article mentions Jane Swift unwilling to move to the Governor's Mansion but Massachusetts has none...
Where is the reference to show she was from Melrose? I understand she's from Williamstown - not even close. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MassWiki (talk • contribs) 12:32, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Gubernatorial Inauguration
I'm confused. Since (as the state Constitution calls for) Lieutenant Governor Jane Swift didn't become Governor, upon Paul Celluci's resignation (and remained LtGov for the rest of her term); why was an inaugural ceremony held? Should we mention this annomaly, in the article? GoodDay (talk) 18:28, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Because Massachusetts has a screwy technical rule that you don't become "Governor" in such an instance, but "Acting Governor." The distinction was pushed heavily in the media in a way it wasn't when Paul Cellucci took the corner office under very similar circumstances, and you may draw the obvious conclusions from there.
