[edit] Jane Johnston Schoolcraft's name

Originally at Talk:Henry Schoolcraft and moved here.

The name "Obabaamwewegiizhigokwe" literally means "Reverberating (babaam-) Sound (-wewe) in the Sky (giizhig(w-)) Woman ((i)kwe)." The term "babaamwewe" generally refers to thunder claps or other thunder-related sound event that fills the sky. However, in the case of Jane Johnston Schoolcraft, the provided English specifically mentions about "stars" making this noise. For any chance, was this the name given to her at the time of her adulthood, possibly associated with the 13 November 1833 meteor shower that caused a large panic or was her name assoicated with some other earlier meteor event?
