Any suggestions on what is needed in a clean up? TMS63112 15:30, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Looks like this article needs a POV check like this line that came from the article Her term was tumultuous. A product of the Daley machine, Byrne claimed to be a reformer , Im not sure though --Aranda 56) 01:48, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

Gave the article a once-over to address some POV and style issues. Any objection to removing the POV tag? I think its pretty neutral now. TMS63112 18:11, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Now I knew that the dead voted in Chicago, but ...

... They endorsed candidates as well???

"She [Jane Byrne] ran one more major campaign, a failed bid in the 1988 Democratic Primary for Cook County Circuit Court Clerk. As part of a move to consolidate his power and reconcile with many white "machine" politicians [Harold] Washington [who died on November 25, 1987] endorsed Aurelia Pucinski, daughter of longtime Alderman Roman Pucinski who defeated Byrne in the primary and Vrdolyak -now a Republican- in the general election."

please, someone, fix this error on the Jane Byrne page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 4.157.11.146 (talk) 04:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC).

It's not an error. Campaigning had begun before Washington's death, and Washington did endorse Puchinski. It's also worth noting that Washington and Byrne loathed each other. Jhobson1 (talk) 13:43, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
