The confusion has been caused by a Polish Wikipedian apparently lacking any sense of visual memory or the ability to recognize buildings.
What you see in the article, is the photograph of the main entrance to the Academy of Fine Arts from Jan Matejko Square. There's no other building like it in Krakow.

Please compare for yourself, A.J.. There's no trees at Jan Matejko Square. Nowak is wrong.

- Marie from Kraków (pl:Dyskusja:Akademia Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie again) says, that this is building 12 (number visible in full resolution), while ASP has number 13. Another Cracovian Wikipedian promised to make the right photo (whew! that's my most strange and confusing edit war ever!). A.J. 22:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

This is official name of the Academy [2]. It is what it is. If someone does not like it, and thinks that academy should have chosen different name I'd suggest consulting WP:IDONTLIKEIT and take WP:LAME crusades against certain English language words somewhere else. - There is no long official name, there is no short official name - there is one OFFICIAL name and it is Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not enough reason to arbitrary change it. M0RD00R (talk) 23:05, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Anyhow, there’s something fishy about that so called Official webpage of the Academy. I emailed them last summer, in the midst of an edit war about the spelling of Kraków. There was no response. I suspect the website does not have an active maintenance person. As far as I'm concerned all translations posted there are unofficial, most likely the work of a single fan. --Poeticbent talk 15:51, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
