[edit] POV

"hard working"? That's POV, I'm removing it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.142.30.134 (talk) 05:20, March 19, 2006 (UTC)

I made several changes to this very POV page too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.153.49.223 (talk) 15:52, April 7, 2006 (UTC)
I mad some changes, notably: The Lords of Chaos is NOT a book about Black Metal but a book about satanic music in general, just with a very strong (and sensationalist) emphasis on the old Norwegian Black Metal scene. Hellhammers comments used in the book about Race are around 10 years old, the original wording implied that they were new. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.178.110.126 (talk) 16:10, May 23, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Religion

I read that he is a christian, which might come from the fact both his parents are (supposedly) devout christians. It also stated that he only plays in BM bands because he enjoys the music, and we all know about the Antestor situation (IMO this only futher fuels it). Does anyone know if he is or isn't? --Xdiabolicalx 22:44, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

He himself is not, His parents are tho and he has denounced Satanism along with several more racist opinions he expressed in his youth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.178.110.126 (talk) 18:06, May 23, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] quotes

Do we need all these quotes?? Spearhead 09:26, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] this is a stub

I've added some parts to the article but it needs more material. It was put as a drummer for Mayhem, and in 2005 session for Dimmu Borgir. Ceartinly there is more to say than that? If anybody has more info add it to the article. Death2 16:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Racist?

is he still racist? please answer me —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.218.173.245 (talk) 21:37, June 18, 2006 (UTC)

Yes; also he likes small children. 85.179.123.253 18:06, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] View on races should be removed

I think you could remove the part about his views on races. One of his fauvorite bands (Blasphemy) has a black person in it. Many or at least some black metallers believe that he wasn't being serious in that book but said it to look even more evil. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.128.219.206 (talk) 09:41, July 1, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Synen

I've seen listed on this page and the Ulver page that Hellhammer played drums on the song "Synen". Does anyone have a reference to this? I ask because I have the song, and there's no drums on it from what I can tell! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.73.199.69 (talk) 14:22, October 11, 2006 (UTC)

Listen to the 3:43 mark, there is snare drum until 4:14. If you don't hear it then you have the wrong song or your speakers are broken. Karpsmom 14:37, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, clearly I must listen to too much loud music as I managed to somehow never notice that. Good call —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.162.15.155 (talk) 18:58, January 13, 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Whitewashing

I'm a bit confused why the quote from Lords of Chaos keeps getting removed. It is a factual reference, taken from a widely-available book. Whether the book is about satanic music or black metal is not relevant - he was interviewed, and made the statements. The sensationalistic nature of the book isn't relevant either - he was neither misquoted, nor taken out of context. It is extremely difficult to arrive at any other interpretation of his statements. Is this a deliberate attempt by fans of his to whitewash his past? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tinkernator (talkcontribs) 12:22, March 23, 2007

Lords of Chaos used fictitious interviews according to Varg Vikernes, so it is a suspect source for Black Metal information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.166.142.217 (talk) 18:26, May 1, 2007 (UTC)
Get lost. Lords Of Chaos is an excellent source and totally in line with Wikipedia reliability standards. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 20:33, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hellhammer's arm

hellhammer had his armed injured so the american tour was cancelled.

[edit] Place of origin

I added Category:People from Hedmark since the article mentions him coming from Trysil. I left the Oslo category, however, the article doesn't clearly justify this. __meco 22:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Album cover as a substitute for a photo

Don't insert album covers into the article, because other users won't add their own photos (if they have any) since the article has a photo. And a good, free, unlicensed photo of the man himself is better than a low-quality album cover with 4 people on it. Bla bla. Death2 13:20, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Anybody who really needs a photo here... ask Mr. Blomberg through his myspace page to upload one himself. Death2 16:35, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Until somebody finds a photo of him that is free to be used, there is no reason the image of the album cover should stay. A picture of Jan with Mayhem on an album cover is better than no picture at all. Karpsmöm 03:38, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The new picture...

...is awesome, but there needs to be something fixed. There's some superfluous text on both sides ov the picture. I don't really know how to fix that.

[edit] Copyvio?

Seems like huge part of the article was copypasted from this page. Specifically, by this diff. --Blacklake (talk) 21:28, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I see where you're coming from when you say that. Yeah, it kind of does look like it. Thanks for pointing that out. BTC 22:22, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
