Janne Virtanen

Janne Virtanen is a strongman from Finland.

Virtanen was the World's Strongest Man champion in 2000. He was runner-up in the 1999 WSM contest, and finished third in 2001. His other championships include Finland's Strongest Man (1998, 1999, 2000), Beauty and the Beast (2000), Helsinki Grand Prix (2000), and the Turkish Strongman Championship in 2002 in Istanbul.

Janne earns his living as a carpenter in Finland.

Following his second consecutive failure to reach the final of the World's Strongest Man in 2007, he announced his retirement.
