OŠ Janko Veselinović (Elementary School Janko Veselinović) is in Šabac school with long tradition and success, but also and modern school of new, young generations who start acquirement of major experience in her.
First generation of students started education in farr year of 1893. In first year of school existence there were 366 registered pupils. Course in school was running whole day in two shifts, one at morning, and another at midday. Its interest that in 1893, in school worked Janko Veselinović, a famous Serbian literate. From 1958/59, school has carried his name.
Traditional and modern were connected when old part of school, built in 1893, was connected with new-built part in 1983. Altogether size of school building is 3,365m2. Four separate school units have altogether size of 779 m2. Those units are two units in Cerovac, one at Jelenča, one at Žabar and one unit at Mala Vranjska.
Currently there are 823 students at school in 41 classes. In main school at Šabac there are 594 students and in the separated sections 229 students. From that number of students, 64 is in Jelenča, 21 in Žabar,20 in Cerovac and in Mala Vranjska 47 students. In this separated units, education is realize from 1st to 4th grade. In second school in Cerovac, education is realize from 5th to 8th grade, and in this school are 77 students.
Main school in Šabac have cabinets and special classroms for: physics, chemistry, art, PC education, mussic, biology, English, tehnical education, modern gym for PE and multimedial classrom. All cabinets and special classroms are highly equipped with modern equipment. In school there are media room, students club, dentist ambulance and wery rich school library. Along that school have and open area – sport terrain and yard.
