Janhavi Acharekar is a Mumbai-based writer. She has worked as journalist, advertising copywriter, wine-seller and art researcher.

Her short stories have appeared in two anthologies of new writing.
1. 'A Good Riot' was shortlisted for The Little Magazine's New Writing Award 2006 and appears in an anthology titled 'First Impressions', published by TLM.
2. 'Play it again, Sam!' appears in an anthology of short fiction titled 'Stories at the Coffee Table' and was launched at the Jaipur Literature Festival
