Jangaon is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 382 metres (1253 feet).

The name of jangaon evolved from "jain gaon" which means village of jains a religion of India. kolanpak (kulpak)of Nalgonda district which is about 20km from jangaon is a famous pilgrimage center for jain people n it has much historical back ground.
When jain religion dominated in India most of the tourists from different places of India visited kulpak. at that time most of the jains they settled in Jangaon, which is called jaingaon at that time. things changed from time to time n people started calling it as Jangaon. kulpak's history starts in 1st century A.D. n we find the archaeological scluptures at there now .
Jangaon played a vital role in Freedom struggle from autocratic Hyderabad Nizam's rule. Bairanpalli, a village near Jangaon, is well known as a second Jallianwala Bagh for its sacrifices of about 150 martyrs in Telangana Liberation fight with Nizam's army also called as Razakaars.

As of 2001 India census[2], Jangaon had a population of 50,270. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Jangaon has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 59%. In Jangaon, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Jangaon is a major educational centre in Warangal district. It consists of a good number of reputed schools, Intermediate, Degree and PG colleges, two Engineering colleges and three Pharmacy college.

- Jeedikal: Jeedikal is holy place where devotees worship ShriRam, Laxman, Sitha & Hanuman. Devotees believe ShriRam came to Jeedikal while searching for Golden Deer. Jeedikal Jatara is a biennial event held once in every two years. People from Warangal, Nalgonda, Karimnagar & Medak come to worship these deities.
- Kolanupaka: Kolanupaka, a holy place for Jains, is situated about 15 km from Jangaon. This was the second capital town of Kalyani Chalukyas during the 11th century. During this period the village was a religious centre of Jains, and ranks among other great Jain centers in the south. The State Department of Archaeology and Museums established the Kolanupaka Museum which exhibits exquisite artifacts from the numerous historical monuments in Kolanupaka.
- Pembarthi: Pembarthi, located 6 km from Jangaon, is world famous for Brass artifacts. The craftsmen at Pembarthi follow the method of embossing on brass and copper sheets. There is a frequent bus service from Jangaon.
- Komaravelli: Komaravelli is holy place where devotees worship Komaravelli Mallana Swamy. Komaravelli is situated just before 10 km from Siddipet while going from Hyderabad/Secundrabad. There is a frequent bus service from Jangaon.
- Yadagiri Gutta: Holy shrine of Sri Lakhsmi Narasimha Swamy. Located about 35km from Jangaon. There is a frequent bus service from Jangaon.
- Shirdi Sai Mandir: A well organized Sai mandir located at Peaceful place away from Town.
- Champak Hills: Champak hills is good place to visit. Panoramic view of the picturesque green hills attracts visitors around this region. There is an Aurobindo ashram over the one of hills. Govt. is proposing an IT Park here and its in very initial stage.
- Banapuram: It is a place near to jangaon with greenery and with an old Hanuman temple. Now A temple of lord venkateshwara and Ayyappa were constructed. At the time of Bathukamma Ladies from all parts of Jangaon visit here.
- Khilashapur: It is the Capital of "Sardar Sarvay Papanna", who fought against Doras of the area. He built a Fort in the village. Former DGP Pervaram Ramulu, his famous Telugu Scholar Brother, Pervaram Jagannadham and AP's Major Irrigation Minister, Ponnala Laxmaiah are from this village.

Jangaon is well connected with rail and road routes. National highway 202, a State highway passes through the town. It is about 80km away from the state capital, Hyderabad and 50 km away from warangal city.

The life of the people here directly or indirectly depends on agriculture. Farming, farming related business, education, retail and wholesale business, hand loom, weaving etc include the major occupations of the people here. It is expected that the completion of J Chokka Rao Godavari Devadula Lift Irrigation Phase - II, will boost the farming activity and also will provide the floride free drinking water to the area. Fortune of next assembly election result for the local MLA and the Major Irrigation Minister, Ponnala Laxmaiah will solely depend on his ability to Complete this Project.
REAL ESTATE BOOM:
Due to its strategic location (one and half hour drive from State Capital Hyderabad and an hour drive from District HQ) and excellent Rail and Road Connectivity, there is an excellent real estate boom.
