Janet Nichols Lynch

Janet Nichols Lynch (born October 3, 1952) is the American author of five books, most recently the young adult novel Peace is a Four Letter Word. Her short stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Seventeen, The Baltimore Review, and Writer's Forum.

Janet was born in Sacramento, California to William Nichols, a refrigeration engineer, and Lena Graifenberg Nichols, a homemaker. She attended Loretto High School in Sacramento, and graduated in 1970. She attended California State University, Sacramento and graduated with a degree in music and a minor in drama in 1974. She went on to graduate school at Arizona State University where she obtained a masters degree in piano performance in 1976. Janet later obtained a masters of fine arts degree at California State University, Fresno in 2002.

She currently resides in Visalia, California with her husband Timothy, a professor of music at College of the Sequoias, her daughter Caitlin, and her son Sean. She teaches English at El Diamante High School and College of the Sequoias.
