Janet E. Smith

Janet E. Smith (1950-) is a professor of moral theology and the Fr. Michael J. McGivney Chair of Life Issues at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. She previously taught at the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Dallas. She is a consultor to the Pontifical Council for the Family.

Prof. Smith is well known in Catholic circles for her adherence to orthodox Catholicism as well as for having given the talk Contraception: Why Not, 1,000,000 copies of which have been distributed throughout the world.
