[edit] Overview

Vasco is the protagonist of the Painkiller Jane television series created by Gil Grant that began its run in 2007 on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Jane Vasco is a former DEA agent whose life is fundamentally changed after contact with a neuro during a mission. She encounters Andre McBride (Rob Stewart), who is the leader of a Black Ops team of agents working for an unspecified government agency. She is forced to join the team after she probes "too far" into their operations.

It was recently revealed that Jane is possibly a neuro. While this has yet to severely impact her relationship with her friends and colleagues, it has begun to cause her to rethink the hypocritical nature of her job.

[edit] Powers

Jane has supernormal recuperative powers bordering on near-invulnerability. This was first realized when she was pushed from a forty story window to her apparent death, only to later revive and then recover completely. However, she still feels the pain of her injuries before they heal.

To date Jane has shown she can recover from mortal blunt trauma, gunshot wounds, intense electrical shocks, and--most recently--raging fires.
