From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jane Jensen (b. 1968) is a rock musician and actress originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. Jane's music career began in Chicago, with a spell in the band Oxygiene 23. Subsequently, Jane's debut solo album "Comic Book Whore" was produced by Craig Kafton and released on Flip Records in 1996.
In 1996 Jane set off on her US promotional tour for her album “Comic Book Whore.” Her band lineup included former Siouxsie and the Banshees guitarist John Valentine Carruthers and Sandy Brockwell on keyboards, who now plays bass with The Marianne Pillsburys. Jane Jensen opened for acts such as Better Than Ezra, Linda Perry, James, and The Barenaked Ladies and was well received at South By South West (SXSW) Festival.
Her second solo album "Burner" was released in 2002. Jane's music is somewhat hard to characterize - the AMG review for Burner describes it as "electric girl-pop grunge with a twist of hip-hop blues".
In addition her music career, Jane has starred in several movies and television shows, including the cult movie "Tromeo and Juliet" in 1996, and most recently the as yet unreleased movie "Fallacy" (2004) with Stephen Baldwin and Gary Busey.
