Jan Jansson (footballer)

Jan Jansson (b. January 26, 1968) is a Swedish former footballer.

He played for Östers and participated in the 1992 UEFA European Football Championship. Jansson also played for IFK Norrkoping and Port Vale in English Division One (now the Championship). He originally signed for Vale on loan in late 1996 and was involved in the clubs most successful season since the 1930s as the Valiants finished 8th in the 2nd tier. Jansson signed permanently during the summer of 1997 and remained at the club for just over 18 months in which time he became a firm fan favourite and scored some key goals in helping the club retain it's Division One status in 1997/98.
