Jan Jacobsen is the name of several people:

  • Jan Jacobsen, early 17th century Dunkirker who became a posthumanous national hero destroying his ship after a 13-hour naval engagement. [1]
  • Jan Jacobsen (Dutch privateer), mid-17th century Dutch corsair and privateer who operated out of France, as did others such as Karel Verburg and Jan Jansen, on behalf of Great Britain during the Second Anglo-Dutch War. [2]
