Jan Goossens

Jan Goossens (born December 18, 1958 in Velp) is a former star American indoor soccer player. He was the original MISL's sixth all-time leading scorer with 682 points during his 7 years in the league.

The 6'0, 180lbs. Dutchman played in the MISL for Golden Bay Earthquakes, Minnesota Strikers (1984-85), Kansas City Comets , and Dallas Sidekicks (1991-92). He was the league's tenth leading scorer in 1984-85.

A forward, Goossens also played six seasons in the outdoor North American Soccer League with Edmonton Drillers (1979-1982) and Earthquakes (1983, 1984) - with Edmonton in 1981 he finished the NASL's 17th leading scorer with 35 points in 26 games and with Golden Bay in 1983 he finished the 21st leading scorer with 32 points in 26 games. He finished NASL's 31st leading scoring with 48 goals in 148 games played over 6 seasons.

After retiring from American soccer, Goossens became a businessman in Dieren.
