Jan-Arie van der Heijden (Schoonhoven, 3 March 1988) is a Dutch football player who currently plays on Midfield for Ajax.
Van der Heijden is a talented left sided midfielder, who made his debut for Ajax in the league match Ajax - Roda JC on 4 November 2007 (4-2). In this match he left a solid impression, by delivering the decisive high through pass that enabled Dennis Rommedahl to run at the goalkeeper and make the final score an emphatic 4-2.
Van der Heijden also participated in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship, where the Netherlands reached the semi finals, but they were beaten by the later winners Mexico.
He also attained a Bachelors degree in Sports and Economics.
