User talk:Jamie@scgonline.net
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dear Jamie@scgonline.net,
Unfortunately, using your e-mail address as your username is not a good idea. Wikipedia content is extensively copied and the site itself is one of the most visited sites in the world. Any edit you make on Wikipedia will have your username attached to it, and using your email address will make you a tempting target for spammers. We recommend that you change your username at Wikipedia:Changing username in order to prevent abuse.
If you need any help, simply contact me on my talk page, or go to Wikipedia:Help desk. Another option is to place {{helpme}} on your own talk page, and someone will come shortly to help. Remember to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). Again, welcome! --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 01:05, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just go to Wikipedia:Changing username, click on the "edit this page" tab, scroll to the bottom, and add your name and what you want to change it to. A Bureaucrat should be around soon to change it. Hope that helps! --Mr. Lefty Talk to me! 01:17, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:SCG at the border.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:SCG at the border.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] AfD Nomination: SCG International Risk
I've nominated the article SCG International Risk for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that SCG International Risk satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SCG International Risk. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of SCG International Risk during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion. Mike Christie (talk) 12:14, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for your message. I have updated and am continuing to update the contribution to provide the news articles on the company which will satisfy the concerns you raised. In fact, check the area now and you will see some of them are already posted. Thank you.Jamie@scgonline.net 12:46, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- I appreciate your response; putting additional references in is the best way to preserve the article. I'll go and read them and will post back to the deletion discussion when I've had a chance to go through them. I've glanced at a couple of them, and so far I'm not quite convinced -- I think articles that quote an SCG employee as a spokesperson are not strictly "about" SCG, though it does show that SCG has established itself in its particular business. The best articles are ones like the one from the Virginian-Pilot -- SCG was quite clearly the subject of that article, if only of a part of it. If you can find a couple more like that I think the article will be kept. Thanks; if you have further questions or comments, you can reply here or on my talk page; I'll respond either way.
