[edit] partition

Hi James, I was thinking of the special case of subset sum in which S is the set of integers and the target value s is equal to sum(S)/2. If there is a subset S1 that sums to s, then the left over elements form another subset S2 that also sums to s. In other words, saying there is a partition of S into two subsets with equal sums is like saying there is a subset S1 of S such that sum(S1) = sum(S)/2. Shlurbee 05:41, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

There should be a clearer way to say it anyway. I rewrote it - would you mind taking a look to see if it's more understandable now? Feel free to change/add anything you think would improve it. Shlurbee 01:02, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

I'm not entirely sure why it turned out like that. I haven't been here for a while so perhaps they've changed sigs or something! Thanks for letting me know Trampledtalk
