[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Homestar running.gif)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Homestar running.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 18:25, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GRITS move

I reverted your move of GRITS to "GRITS (band)". The move to GRITS was requested, open for discussion, and completed. Please re-open the discussion if you disagree, but don't simply move it back. Thanks! -- JHunterJ 03:29, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Magna Moralia citations

Hi, sorry to bother you like this, but not every fact concerning the Magna Moralia needs an independent citation. As I noted on the Magna Moralia talk page, a synopsis of the scholarship regarding the pedigree of the Magna Moralia is available in Armstrong's introduction inthe Loeb edition. There is no debate about whether there is debate and where the majority view lies, and referencing every sentence would just clutter up the article. I hope you agree. • Hi, and thank you for explaining about the reference. It initially looked unsupported to me. Sorry to have reverted it unnecessarily. — James.S (talk contribs count) 21:49, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Date conventions

Please do not change the date format in articles on non-US subjects to US format as you did in the article on Sir Buri Kidu. Thank you. Masalai 01:47, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Notability of ALUnARED

A tag has been placed on ALUnARED, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. MER-C 06:27, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Talk:Prevenient grace

I noticed that you edited someone else's comment for clarity, spelling or grammar. As a rule, please refrain from editing others' comments without their permission. Though it may appear helpful to correct typing errors, grammar, etc., please do not go out of your way to bring talk pages to publishing standards, since it is not terribly productive and will tend to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thanks, --Flex (talk|contribs) 13:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Homestar head.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Homestar head.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. Durin 00:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use removal

I've removed the image Image:Firefox-logo.svg from your userbox template {{User:James.S/Userboxes/User Firefox}}, as it was fair use, and not free to use, the latter being neccessary for userboxes. Blast 05.04.07 0123 (UTC)

[edit] Your sig

Hello, James,

I see you have a link to your edit count in your sig. Unfortunatly, signatures can't have external links in them, so you'll have to remove the link to your edit count (see WP:SIG for more information). Cheers, Mystytopia 23:23, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] template

A template you have created or significantly contributed to, {{user9}}, is the subject of a discussion I have started on the village pump. —Random832 17:50, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CD cover dichotomy-b.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:CD cover dichotomy-b.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:49, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
