[edit] Billy Williams (footballer born 1876)

I've created an article for Billy Williams who played for West Brom in the 19th century as well as for England. Are you able to add/correct anything? Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:33, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Images and Fulfordgate

Hey, thanks, I'm spending too much time putting images on really... But I agree. To be honest, I've been concerning myself with getting the whole figure of the subject in the crop, and not really been paying much attention to other things that make the image look a bit odd. I'll have a go at getting these cropped soon. And nice one with those OS maps - quite surprised any images of the ground are available. A photo of where the ground was would be fantastic and I can't really see any problems with privacy, but it's definitely best for it to be checked. [edit] Another friendly request

Hi there Jameboy, this is VASCO from Portugal (read CAREFULLY),

I have had it with WP and this time i mean it! From now on CONSULTING ONLY!! Before leaving, i would like to ask another thing from you mate, this time without any involvement with third-party users, just the WikiProject Football project itself.

I begin: i have edited three or four times PEPE (REAL MADRID)'s stats, he played 19 times this season with no goals (every major football website will attest to that) but, he scored an OWN GOAL against DEPORTIVO CORUÑA, which, has any INTELLIGENT human being, with knowledge of SOCCER RULES, knows it is not credited to a player statistic history, just referred to. This is getting wilder now...User 202.75.80.182 said this "charmer" on an edit summary: "Goals are included. Own goals are NOT excluded.", then proceeded to write 19-1 in infobox. I corrected it on site and explained, humourously and politely, that own goals "are bad", like a referee scoring it by accident, so they are not accounted for, and also left a message in his talk page. His SHITTY, UNCLASSY answer was:

"According to your reference, I like to apologize about my edits as you referred. But I just want to know. What is the meaning of adding 22 goals on Spanish cup? I only stated that he scored 1 goal for the league, but 0 for CUP. Are you trying to VANDALISE the article before saying I'm trying to add silly edits? If you say YES, I will forgive you, because you only put 22 goals on CUP section. If you say NO, FUCK off.

Anyway, I stated that he scored 1 goal, because I think that goal is a good goal. You are welcome to give me any comments on my talk section, but don't give me any nonsense, such as it's just an own goal, or OWN goals are BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Thank You."

So my friend JAMEBOY, i am sick and tired of this, even more so when i DID NOT VANDALIZE PEPE's page as he accused me of. I know not having an account is sometimes "dangerous" but you cannot accuse anyone without proof. What i would like you and all the partners at the FOOTBALL PROJECT do, is somebody please explain these people what an OWN GOAL is, create a talk page, etc, etc, i don't have the guts anymore, the guts to talk with unpolite and dumb people (no offense meant here mate).

By the way, to avoid any confusion, on my part, i checked 4 or 5 sites, read carefully through ALL REAL MADRID matches (CUP and CHAMPIONS LEAGUE inclusive), and PEPE scored 0, none, zero, goals, and this guy told me (reread message above, that he thinks "that goal is a good goal."). I GIVE UP...

Again, thank you for invite me to join the PROJECT, have a great life (here and elsewhere),

FROM PORTUGAL, VASCO AMARAL (clear conscience, always tried my best) - --217.129.67.28 (talk) 19:43, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] History of Bradford City

Hmmm. That same comment was brought up at its GAN. I came up with an answer then, and I'll find it now again. But the fact a second person has said that will push me to try find something else that can be added to the middle. Found it here's my answer then "I appreciate this query. I partly noticed this at the time I wrote it. However I feel some periods of any historical facts are always going to have more notable periods than others. For those 62 years, there are only a few ways of saying the team got promoted, got relegated. Nothing majorly notable happened as far as I can see. However I appreciate your concern and will try to find anything else I can add to these sections."

I will try add more though. The first section includes the foundation, which has one entire paragraph. The first 16 years are then reduced to three rather than the apparent four pars. This period also includes the club's only major success, highest ever finish, and only extended period in the top flight. The last two sections detail the club's rise back up the leagues (twice), the fire, three periods in administration, only years in the Premier League and only European campaign.

However I will look to see if I can expand on the intermediate years. And thanks for the early comments. Peanut4 (talk) 00:58, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Confused?

JAMEBOY, VASCO here,

I'll admit my message was a bit confusing, was just spilling my guts out about the vandalism, the edit wars i had and i am sure everyone here has to, while proposing something i do not even know is appliable on the Football TaskForce, that was all...I am not doing it myself, because i will stop editing.

Take care, safe editing, and a nice life. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.129.67.28 (talk) 02:31, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Confused? - part2

Just a final thought JAMEBOY,

I was wondering if your "ermmm...?!" to my LONG, LONG message was just of bewilderment, misunderstanding of its content, or did you, in anyway were offended by my words, thinking that any of my insults there were aimed at you. No, my wikifriend, rest assured, but if you were offended, i apologize for any incovenience, as well as the exaggerations in requests for doing this or that.

Even though i will not edit any more, i will still consult WP now and then, and check my talk page, so you can, if interested, reply.

Cheers, be safe, from PORTUGAL

VASCO AMARAL - --217.129.67.28 (talk) 02:41, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Not offended, just a little bewildered. If you have any specific complaints with other users, probably best to take it to WP:FOOTY for football articles. Kind regards, --Jameboy (talk) 13:39, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Darren Moore

I edited the article as Moore was not voted the POTY by the fans (the Jack Stamps Trophy) but instead won the club's internal award. The JST went to the supporters (it was presented to the crowd by Roy McFarland prior to the last home game of the season v Reading). Apologies for not including this in the edit summary. [edit] Mickey Lewis league stats

No worries, cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 23:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bob Roberts (footballer)

Updated DYK query On 4 June 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Bob Roberts (footballer), which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thankyou BorgQueen. I now feel truly assimilated into your collective. --Jameboy (talk) 22:56, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
