Diane Salema (born July 20, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario) is one of eight hosts of MTV Canada's program MTV Livewhere she presents, Smashdown, a 90-second recap of the drama unfolding on hit MTV shows which airs on the program MTV Live weekly.[1] In addition Salema also co-hosts for the MTV’s Live Chats between programs and during commercial breaks. [2] In these segments, Salema and fellow MTV hosts interact with viewers across Canada and dish about the programming each day.[3]

Born and raised in Toronto, Salema was a former lead singer of a heavy metal band called, "A Walk Down Memory Lane" where it's first performance took place at the Royal Alexander Theatre. [4]

Diane Salema was discovered by MTV producers at her pervious job as a sales clerk at HMV. [5]
