The airline was established and started operations in 1994 with the joining together of Zaire Airlines, Zaire Express and Congo Airlines. It has 1,100 employees (at March 2007).[1]

- On January 25, 2008 an Aero-Service Antonov 12 on a cargo flight to Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo had a brake failure after landing and crashed into the parked Canadian Airways Congo Boeing 727-247 (Registration 9L-LEF, Serial 21482/1341) The 2 crew members on the Antonov were seriously injured. Both aircraft were destoryed.[2][3]
