James Quaife has been directing for six years. His work includes, 'Jack' (A musical thriller) University of Hull, 'Confessions of a Paedophile' University of Hull, 'Huis Clos' University of Hull, 'The Hole' University of Hull, 'The Woman in Black' University of Hull, '4.48 Psychosis' University of Hull, 'The Labyrinth' Edwina Porter Theatre, 'Nightclub' (A Musical), Adrian Mann Theatre, 'Fear' Edwina Porter Theatre, 'He Said Yes She Said No' Nescot Theatre Epsom.
James has directed a rehearsed reading for the play Citizenship by Mark Ravenhill at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, which was apart of the project Shell Connections.
James has also been involved with the comedy musical 'The Play What I Wrote' by Hamish McColl and Sean Foley, which was on UK tour in 2006.
James has also worked on the National Student Drama Festival (NSDF) for two years as the Local Coordinator for Scarborough,and also the Press & Publicity Manager. James has also been deputy manager for Hill Street Theatre for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2005, and in 2006 worked for Opera Holland Park as the Fire Officer and Health & Safety Officer for the open air theatre. James returned to Opera Holland Park for the 2007 season as Assistant FOH Manager. For the 2008 Season, he will be taking on the position of Front of House Manager, and is very much looking forward to working with the new team.
More recently, James took part in the first annual Mouth Cancer Voice Awards 2007. He competed along with an other comedian and numerous musical artists. He out-classed the competition and was awarded the best in category award for comedy. The prize was 10 minute slot at the prestigious Comedy Club in London's West End.
James is currently working for the Royal National Theatre as a Student Rep representing St. Mary's University College and the University of Hull, Scarborough.
James is a member of the Directors Guild of Great Britain, and of Equity. He is currently reading for an M.A. in Contemporary Theatre Directing at St. Mary's University College, Twickenahm, London. He will be directing a production at the Battersea Arts Centre in June 2008
