I am from India and hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology. Right now I'm working as a Software Engineer.
I read about Wikipedia through journals and I have been around since April 2004 (I am a bit inactive owing to my work). This project has interested me a lot and I'll try to make as many contributions as I can.

[edit] What Am I Doing Here???
Well... answering that question is a little difficult. You see, I'm not an expert in some so-and-so field who is here to contribute a vast amount of knowledge to topics related to that :-). I just know a little about this and that. I'm a bits-and-pieces editor. My interests are listed below this heading. They are a bit outdated, I'll update them when I'm really clear about what my interests actually are.
Lately I have shown some interest in welcoming new users into the Wikipedia Community. I've found some nice welcome templates out there... thanks to all who took the trouble to create it. The beneficiaries of Copy-Paste are forever devoted to such Creators :-).

My main interest is Computers and I specifically like Programming. I have sufficent knowledge (I think) in languages such as C/C++, a little Java, Visual Basic, SQL and a little about Web design.
My other major interest is Sports especially Cricket.
And I'm crazy about Harry Potter!!!
