[edit] Wikipedia policy on living persons

The Wikipedia high standards for Biographies of Living persons. To keep within those standards, I've removed a number of comments from this talk page. New editors are encouraged to read the Wikipedia policy on living persons. Jeff Carr 09:48, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nobel Prize nominee?

Ism't it a little misleading to say he played "late death row inmate and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Stanley Williams"? Wouldn't you find it odd to see that an actor played 'Nazi leader and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Adolf Hitler'? He has also nominated... I was under the impression that Williams' nomination was widely disregarded as inappropriate attention seeking by those who supported his clemency, as the nominations are not done by the Nobel committee itself but by professors at universities and the like.

[edit] Vague record

I am removing "he is the 4th person in history to win an academy award and have a #1 album", while this maybe true it is vague. It's a movie award and a music chart posistion. It's not like a grammy and an academy award (two compareable award shows from the worlds of music and acting) or a #1 album and a #1 box office movie (two compareable success' in these worlds). Furthermore, this vague claim only counts the music charts of the USA, there are music charts in hundreds of other countries and therefore many more "#1 albums" that this piece of trivia excludes. 74.65.39.59 01:50, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Neutrality Dispute

I have posted a neutrality dispute in regards to the Miami Vice section. While some of these issues may be true based on sources, the word choice takes on a negative perspective rather than a neutral one.

I fail to see the POV here, the section basically repeats what's in the article linked to. I don't see how telling people he acted like an arrogant tw*t and forcing a massive change in a film he was working on, coupled with his b*tching over not being paid enough millions (and demanding top billing) is POV. Seek100 03:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

I fail to see the POV here Yes, that's because it's your POV. It does NOT repeat what the Variety article says, which hardly mentions Jamie Foxx at all except to say filming was delayed because of his commitment to Jarhead. Whatever your motivations are for fabricating derogatory comments about Jamie Foxx (possibly racist), they do not belong in a Wikipedia article and I vote for the entire section to be removed unless some proper sources are obtained which substantiate the allegations. User:Jaganath 12:43, 05 August 2006 (UTC)
I've removed the Miami Vice section as there was no reference. The guidelines here are "Be very firm about high quality references". If someone can find a reference, then put it back in the Trivia section. Jeff Carr 09:04, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] White washed

Can we find another way of saying the character is white washed? I don't remember the show are we saying that the character's flaw was that he acted white? Maybe we should say what particular what particular white traits we are talking about instead of using a slang term. --Gbleem 05:02, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The six or three with Oscars and number 1 albums

It says 6 then it says three in the parentheses. It should be one of four and the other three in parentheses. Eminem did not win an oscar for acting. Cher does not have a number one album.

Cher does not have a number one album in the United States. She cannot be added to the list.

[edit] Arrest

I've restored the arrest section YET AGAIN. We're not in the business of removing verifiable relevant information about celebrities just because it shows them in a bad light. If you need a justification for it's inclusion, try the fact that Foxx is known for his squeaky clean image, and attacking police officers is somewhat incompatible with his general image and opinions. exolon 03:03, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I've removed the arrest section. You're right, but we're not in the business of adding one event because it shows them in a bad light. One "disturbing the peace" charge does not a controversy make (and note that the other charges were dropped). Ral315 (talk) 17:05, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm not buying that. It's factual, neutral, verifiable and relevant. It's going back in. If you still object then I would suggest an RFC on it's inclusion. exolon 18:41, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
It doesn't seem to notable enough to deserve it's own section. How about it just a bullet point in the trivia section? Jeff Carr 08:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, that seems like a reasonable idea. I'm willing to accept that. exolon 17:08, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alliant International University

Alliant International University lists Eric Bishop as an alumni, so I've added that to the trivia section. Jeff Carr 08:33, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Talking of which, he is categorised in Category:Juilliard School people, but no mention in the article, or in on-line bio. Is this right? Johnbod 01:21, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Jamie Foxx Show

Shouldn't this article say something about his acting career on TV, the Jamie Foxx show? ~CT —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.107.12.81 (talk) 16:27, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
