That doesn't prove the notability of the statue, which is the subject of the article. You might want to write an article about James Shaw first, and mention his statue within that? Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 09:39, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

i have now cited Archibald McKay's The History of Kimarnock which comments on the noteworthiness of the statue itself. I trust this will be ok to prevent deletion.
