Talk:James Ruse

A question in relation to the following quote:
Ruse's gravestone, which he carved himself, reads:
"Sacred to the memory of James Ruse who departed this life sep 5 in the year of Houre Lord 1837..."
This is a pradox. How could he have carved the gravestone when he would have had to have been dead to know (or not know) the date that he died?
He carved his gravestone before he died, BUT NOT the dates, they were added later!Pruse 05:25, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
