I've raised some questions at Talk:Kent County, Michigan#Naming of Kent County about James Kent's connections with Michigan. If anyone has additional information about precisely why the Michigan Territorial Legislature decided to name the county after James Kent or about what role he may have played in representing Michigan in the dispute over the Toledo Strip, please let me know. older ≠ wiser 18:38, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
