[edit] Writing credits for "In Your Smile"

There is no evidence whatsoever that James Fox has ever claimed writing credits for the song "In Your Smile", other than hearsay based on a possibly joking remark in a radio interview. Griffin is given sole credit for this song in Allmusic guide and on all the relevant printed album and single credits - see Bring It On, The Sun Shines Brighter. To claim otherwise could be potentially libellous. Jud (talk) 11:26, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possible Conflict of Interest

It has come to the attention of several editors that there may be someone with a conflict of interest editing this page. Although the edits are clearly in good faith, I thought I'd just post some key points from wiki policies and guidelines here for the reference of anyone editing the page. Please read them and try to abide if you are considering editing this page.

From WP:AUTO

  • Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged, unless your writing has been approved by other editors in the community. Editing a biography about yourself should only be done in clear-cut cases. Wikipedia has gone through many prolonged disputes about the significance, factual accuracy, and neutrality of such articles.[1] Avoiding such editing keeps Wikipedia neutral and helps avoid pushing a particular point-of-view. Writing autobiographies is discouraged because it is difficult to write a neutral, verifiable autobiography and there are many pitfalls.
  • If Wikipedia already has an article about you - It is difficult to write neutrally and objectively about oneself (see above about unconscious biases). You should generally let others do the writing. Contributing material or making suggestions on the article's talk page is considered proper—let independent editors write it into the article itself or approve it if you still want to make the changes yourself. Facts, retellings of events, and clarifications which you may wish to have added to an article about yourself must be verifiable by third parties.

From WP:NPOV

  • All Wikipedia articles and other encyclopedic content must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), representing fairly and, as much as possible, without bias all significant views (that have been published by reliable sources). This is non-negotiable and expected on all articles, and of all article editors.

From Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms - see this link for examples

  • In Wikipedia articles, try to avoid peacock terms which merely promote the subject of the article without imparting real information.

From WP:SOCK

  • The general rule is: one editor, one account.

I'll add anything else I can think of later. Please let me just stress again that if someone is editing this page who is intimately linked with its subject I appreciate they are just trying to help make the article better. However, this is considered inappropriate on wikipedia I'm afraid as it's all too easy to slip over into PR. Please post useful info and links here on the talk page so that neutral editors can edit it into the article. Thanks :-) Sassf (talk) 20:45, 19 February 2008 (UTC)
