Talk:James Beckett
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not much here about Dr. Beckett. Also, I'd be interested in reading about possible perverting prices in the 80's/90's of the guides. Those went out with lead time, where others with knowledge could have profited. Also did he and PSA destroy the industry and hobby?
- The last question is most definetly a matter of debate (personally I think too many products and overdoing the game used memobilia cards and 1/1's are what are killing the hobby). However, I think there should also be a seperate article about Beckett Baseball Card Monthly itself. Especially in the 1980s and 1990s, that was THE trading card price guide; every dealer I ever seen used only that guide. I personally have almost a whole run from 1988-96 (IMO, Beckett's peak years in popularity), but I'm not sure how to use them to really do the BBCM article justice.76.177.174.82 08:01, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
