[edit] State of the article

I have tagged this article as needing cleanup, both in general and specifically regarding the Night of the Hunter material. There's a lot to do here, but I am no Agee expert... --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 03:20, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nazi controversy?

A user added the following to my talk page, but it seems more appropriate to put it here.

I've been reading some on Agee. Apparently, he wrote an article for The Nation, May 19, 1945, which criticized films by US Signal Corps showing Nazi atrocities in Hitler's death camps. Agee questioned the veracity of the films & called them "propaganda." I did not want to edit the page without getting the original Nation article or finding a scholarly analysis. Does anyone have any handy references to verify whether Agee was a Holocaust denier? Here is the Nation summary: Abstract Films Agee, James | May 19, 1945 issue add to cart close window In this article, the author presents information on some recently released films which show Nazi atrocities. He describes that these films show that Nazi atrocities are only part of what is rather clearly an ordered and successful effort to condition the people of Germany. The simple method is to show thing; more frightful than most American civilians have ever otherwise seen, and to pin the guilt for these atrocities on the whole German people. According to the author, in their full immediate force and expression, these films are in some respects irrelevant to moral inquiry. Ncbbq 03:03, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

I have nothing to say on this matter as I know nothing about it. --Wspencer11 (talk to me...) 14:12, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, it was the first time I responded to a page. I would like to update the page with this info after I research it a bit more. Ncbbq 22:51, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Archive at the Harry Ransom Center

Hello,

I work with the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. I would like the Wikipedia community to know that the HRC has a James Agee Archive. Due to conflict of interest, I cannot make changes on the page myself. Would someone please add the following in the External Links section:

"James Agee Collection at the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center".

It would link to: http://research.hrc.utexas.edu:8080/hrcxtf/view?docId=ead/00139.xml&query=james%20agee&query-join=and

Thank you. Sashafresh (talk) 20:22, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
