Angusmclellan said,"Winning the second-highest award seems short of the required degree of notability, also Wikipedia isn't a memorial".

By itself, the medal isn't particularly notable, but there were two Navy ships named after him. Seems sufficient to me. The main problem with the article is that it's so small—not even his birthdate.

The two ships should be enough to establish notability. I removed the notability tag. Sorted as part of the Notability wikiproject. --B. Wolterding 18:46, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lilac Wine

Is this the same James Shelton who wrote Lilac Wine? That doesn't seem to be the case. Toscaesque 19:46, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Point seconded - this page is linked from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilac_Wine - requires disambiguation. 217.207.90.227 09:29, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

"dabneeded" template added. --B. Wolterding 18:46, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

I've fixed the disambiguate thing as there's no other notable James Sheltons i think. Composer article still needs creation but information on the net is very very minimal. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 12:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
