Coordinates: 24°55′N 86°13′E / 24.92, 86.22 Jamui is a city and a municipality in Jamui district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is the district headquarters of Jamui district.

Jamui is located at 24.92° N 86.22° E^[1]. It has an average elevation of 78 metres (255 feet). Surrounded by Munger district in the South,Bihar state in the south and east and in the west lies Lakhisarai, Shekhpura and Nawada districts. Its main towns are SONO, Sikandra, Chandradeep, Aliganj, Jhajha, Chakai and Khaira. District is full of untapped natural sources of mica, coal, gold, iron-ores etc. Jamui is a beautiful town. The Nature sourinding of jamui is very good, Jamui is a relision place. There is a palace in Jamui is very good.It is havens in Jamui.Called Intasager. It is a very picefull palace, there was a king called Kumar Gandhrav. It was a power full king. But he loves people.

As of 2001 India census^[2], Jamui had a population of 66,752. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Jamui has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65%, and female literacy is 44%. In Jamui, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.The single block of this district is SONO where the literacy rate is 75%, This is very beautyful semi urban town having 10000 population.
