Jamtronica is an emerging genre of music blending the broad genres of Electronica and Jam Bands. Jamtronica combines the contemporary electronic sounds with extended live improvisational jams.
Many bands have combined Electronica with improvisational jamming but the Disco Biscuits are generally credited with progressing the Jamtronica movement starting in the 1990's with trance-fusion[1].
The term Jamtronica as a sub genre is disliked by some for different reasons: It clumps vastly different styles of music together. Electronica as a genre is very broad and often incorporates live improvisational works. And Jam Bands often mix and incorporate many different styles into their live performances and well as studio compositions.
