Jamsil-dong is a neighbourhood, dong of of Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea.[1]Its name is strongly related to silkworm breeding during the Joseon dynasty and Jamsil literally means a room or place for sericulture. The state encouraged to people to raise silkworms, so founded Dongjamsil (동잠실, literally east place for sericulture) in the east vicinity of Seoul.[2]
