The Honourable Jamie Rix (born 1958) is a popular English children's author known as Jamie Rix.
Jamie Rix is the son of actor and MENCAP President Brian Rix and Blackadder actress Elspet Gray. He is married to Helen and has two grown-up sons, Ben and Jack. He lives in Tooting, London.
He originally started writing and producing comedy for radio and TV, including Alas Smith and Jones and Radio Active. His first book, "Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids", was published in 1990 and won the Smarties Prize Children's Choice Award. Since then, he has written many books for many age groups, including Johnny Casanova - the Unstoppable Sex Machine for older readers, and several sequels to "Grizzly Tales". This book and its sequels have now been adapted into an award-winning television animation series.
Jamie Rix's latest project is a series of books containg The War Diaries of Alistair Fury, the hilarious account of an eleven year old boy desperate for revenge on his older brother and sister. This series includes (in order): Bugs on the Brain, Dead Dad Dog, Kiss of Death, Tough Turkey, Summer Helliday Exam Fever.
