[edit] Inter-county
As a result of many great hurling displays for his local club Kelleher was quickly called up for inter-county duty. He won his first Munster title with Cork, represented by Blackrock, however, Cork were surprisingly beaten by London in the All-Ireland final. In 1902 Kelleher had the honour of captaining a Dungourney selection of players that represented Cork in the inter-county championship. As captain he won a second Munster title as well as a first All-Ireland title following a huge victory over London. 1903 saw Kelleher win his third provincial hurling medal. Once again this was converted into a second All-Ireland title for the Dungourney hurler. Kelleher added two further Munster titles to his collection in 1904 and 1905, however, Cork were defeated in both All-Ireland finals. Two years later in 1907 Kelleher captained Cork to another Munster title, however, Kilkenny were victorious over Kelleher’s side in the subsequent All-Ireland medal. In 1912 Kelleher won his seventh Munster title, however, his side were once again beaten in the subsequent All-Ireland final.
Jamesy Kelleher died in 1943.
