Jamestown High School (often abbreviated to JHS) is a public high school located in Jamestown, New York. It is the sole public high school within the city limits of Jamestown and educates high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Its school colors are red, green, and white and its mascot is a cartoon Native American man carrying a tomahawk.

Jamestown High School was first established in 1867. 1903 marked the publishing of the first yearbook and in 1924, the A'Cappella Choir was founded which still exists today. In 1934, the present day building began construction as part of Roosevelt's New Deal. The new school building was officially finished on November 15, 1935. In 1979, the first Battle of the Classes took place, which still continues today. The event raised about $250,000 over the course of 30 years for local charities. From 1984 to 1987, the school went through modernization, including the construction of a new Gym. In 1993, the Red Raider Football team lost in the first New York State football championship series. The team di however, go on to win the state championship in 1994, 1995, and 2000. One Thanksgiving 1995, the Red Raider Marching Band marched as the "Santa Band" in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The band won the State Championship in 2002 and became the the Orange Bowl champions in 2003. In fall 2004. the Jamestown Tech Academy opened for classes for students at Jamestown High School. In January 2008, the Red Raider Marching Band Marched in the Citrus Bowl Parade and Disney world.

In addition to the standard topics of history, math, science, and English, Jamestown High School teaches courses covering many different areas of art and music. It also offers college-level courses via the Advanced Placement Program in a variety of subjects that allow students to receive university credit. The Advanced Placement Program is very good at Jamestown and continues to produce high pass rates on the Advanced Placement Exams.

Jamestown High School's music program is among the most widely-recognized in the region. In past years, the Marching Band has been invited to participate in the Rose Bowl and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades. Its choral program, led by the A'Cappella Choir, has toured throughout the United States and Europe.

The different branches of the music department are the Concert Band currently under the direction of Marc Subway Lentsch; the Symphonic Band under Meghan Bolling; Concert Orchestra under Katie Cierlicki; The Mixed Chorus, Girls Chorus, and A'Cappella Choir under Stormin' Norman Lydell.

The Marching band presented the show "Four", based on the four seasons, across New York in Fall 2006, and in fall 2007 they presented "Fire & Ice". Also in this past year, the marching band traveled to Florida, and participated in the nationally televised Citrus Bowl.The Marching Band placed fourth in the NYSFBC in Syracuse NY. The Jamestown High School Marching Band Participated in the Florida Citrus Parade in December 2007. The Marching Band also participated in Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade in Disney World in December 2007 where everyone almost died on a light post.

The A'Cappella Choir also recently traveled to Washington D.C. in March 2007 to serenade visitors and locals to the area.

Jamestown High School is home to several teams which compete under the name "Red Raiders". They participate in sports such as Cross Country,Swimming,football, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, track and field, bowling, gymnastics, and others. Its most prominent area is football, with the varsity football team having won the New York State championship multiple times 1994, 1995, 2000 under coach Wally Huckno. It has also been ranked among the top 25 in the nation. The basketball team has been very successful the past few years, winning the ECIC championship various times under coach Ben Drake, with the most recent championship coming this year. The girls basketball team has also become a power house by winning the two past Sectional titles and being ranked in the top teams of New York State and the East.
