James Wright (born 13 June 1986 in Stockport, Cheshire)[1], is a speedway rider in the United Kingdom, riding with the Workington Comets in the Premier League and with the Belle Vue Aces in the Elite League.

His Grandfather, Jim Yacoby rode for the Belle Vue Aces from 1959 until 1967. James' brother Charles is also a speedway rider.

He started his career with the Buxton Hitmen before progressing to his current clubs. In 2004 he became the Conference League Riders Champion. In June 2007, Wright signed for Vastervik to ride in the Swedish Elite League.

Wright represented Great Britain for the 2007 Under 21-World Cup Final.

2007 also saw Wright become Premier League Riders Champion.[2] In November 2007 Wright announced he had signed a two year deal to ride for Unia Tarnów in Poland.[3] The Swindon Robins announced that Wright would ride for them in 2008 in the Elite League.
