James W. "Jim" Trimble was the 19th head college football coach for the University of Wichita (now Wichita State University) located in Wichita, Kansas and he held that position for three seasons, from 1948 until 1950. His overall coaching record at Wichita was 13 wins, 14 losses, and 3 ties. This ranks him 11th at Wichita State in terms of total wins and 16th at Wichita State in terms of winning percentage. [1]
Trimble took his 1948 squad to the Camellia Bowl, only to lose to Hardin-Simmons by an embarrassing score of 49-12.[2]
